We had 12 riders venture out on an
absolutely beautiful morning! We left a little after 9:25 and
returned to Glacier Ridge around 4:00pm. Everyone survived without
injury!
During our first stop, Tom Price provided an overview of all the
activities
his business, Price Organics, is involved. It was fascinating!
And,
Delaware SWCD Supervisors and staff provided a $500 donation (as well as
water, snacks, etc.!). Thanks Tom and the Delaware SWCD!!!
At our second stop - the farm/home of Steve Robinson - we enjoyed lunch
and
much needed relaxation! He shared some of the many conservation
practices
he has utilized on his farm. And, we had some good pictures taken
with
Steve on a very old bicycle that was being utilized as a yard ornament!
The
pictures will be on NACD's Renovation Ride Blog at some point in time!
Thanks Steve, Terri and the Union SWCD!!!
I am extremely proud of everyone who participated in the event -
especially
all who provided support, donations, and time to this ride -- and for all
the previous donations made. Ohio, to date, is the only state to do
a
"conservation ride." And, NACD truly appreciates all of
our efforts!
And - in conclusion, if you didn't have the chance to donate to this
event,
yet would still like to contribute - please send us a check! We will
plan
to deliver our money to NACD during the upcoming Legislative Conference in
DC. As of Saturday, we raised over $1800 from this event and
anticipate
more checks coming in. I would love to be able to get that number to
$2500
or more if possible!
